WATCH: Gillibrand Hammered for Trying to Wriggle Her Way Out of Question
Instead, the ambitious senator is hosting $2,700 per ticket fundraiser with a leading executive with pharmaceutical giant Pfizer while insisting that we "need to get money out of politics." (Conservative Tribune)
This glaring difference between Gillibrand’s campaign and Warren’s campaign was brought up by Wallace on Monday.
“A top executive for Pfizer is holding a big fundraiser for you at the end of March. Tickets are $1,000 to $2,700. Is Warren right that access to candidates is for sale?” Wallace asked.
“No, but I think you do need to get money out of politics,” Gillibrand said. “The most important thing we have to do is upend the way our democracy functions. Today, the wealthiest, most powerful lobbyists and special interest groups get to write bills in the dead of night.”
Wallace was nearly blown away by Gillibrand’s blatant hypocrisy.
After finishing a barely coherent rant about greed in politics, Gillibrand finally conceded that she had no intention to cancel the fundraiser.
