The suspect in the mass shooting this morning at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida, was an aviation student from Saudia Arabia, prompting officials to investigate if the deadly attack was terrorism-related.

Military personnel from across the globe visit the base.

First responders fatally shot the gunman, but not before he killed three people and wounded seven others.

The Hill has more:

President Trump tweeted on Friday afternoon that he had received a briefing on the shooting and had spoken with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R).

"My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families during this difficult time. We are continuing to monitor the situation as the investigation is ongoing," he wrote.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) who represents Pensacola, said in a tweet that he was "monitoring reports" of the shooting.

"Please pray for our military service members, law enforcement, and other first responders as they work to address the situation," he wrote.
