Tlaib Blames Senior Democrats After Partnering With Extremist Group

According to the Daily Caller:
Tlaib and Omar held a joint press conference on Monday to address the canceled trip, which Israel barred the lawmakers from making on account of their support for the anti-Israel boycott, divest and sanction (BDS) movement. (RELATED: Rep's Father Says She Broke the Law to Win Election)
Palestinian-based organization Miftah, which has terror ties and in the past promoted anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, was partially sponsoring the trip. Tlaib dodged responsibility for the partnership when asked about Miftah at the press conference.
Miftah historically supported terror perpetrated against Israelis and once referred to suicide bombings as a sacrifice "for the cause."
Those comments came at the height of the Second Intifada – a surge of violence in Israel which Palestinians described as an uprising against the Jewish State.
More recently, Miftah's founder, Hanan Ashrawi, derided attempts to label Palestinian attackers as terrorists.
At one point the group pushed neo-Nazi propaganda and even blood libel, accusing Jews of using the blood of Christians in religious rituals.

"Our colleagues that are senior members, some of whom have served multiple terms, actually told us about the organization," said Tlaib, who broke down crying at another point in the press conference.
"We're not the ones who chose the organization," Tlaib added. "A U.S.-based sponsor organization chose it. But I think there we're five members of Congress that actually went on a trip sponsored by the same organization."
The five members of Congress who previously attended a Miftah-sponsored trip to Israel were Reps. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL), Dan Kildee (D-MI), Hank Johnson (D-GA), Matt Cartwright (D-PA), and Mark Pocan (D-WI).
