House GOP files lawsuit over Obama’s health-care law
The move raises political tension the day after the president said he would act without Congress on immigration.
The lawsuit, filed in a Washington, D.C., federal court, is focused on changes made by the administration to health-law policy after the Affordable Care Act was signed into law. House Speaker John Boehner (R., Ohio) said in a statement that lawmakers had an obligation to act to protect the Constitution.
“Time after time, the president has chosen to ignore the will of the American people and rewrite federal law on his own without a vote of Congress. That’s not the way our system of government was designed to work,” Mr. Boehner said.
