Faith Leader to Run for Congress

Sean Feucht isn't your average politician.

The megachurch pastor and gospel singing recording artist has done mission work in more than one-quarter of the earth's countries, including nations where governments relentlessly persecute Christians.

Now, he's taking up a new challenge, running against incumbent Democratic Congressman John Garamendi in California's 3rd District. (Fox News)

"I am running because it's time for average Americans who have no desire to be politicians to stand up and change our countryโ€™s path before itโ€™s too late," Feucht, pronounced "FOYT," told Fox News.

"I am running for the unborn, the unheard, the forgotten and millions of unengaged hardworking Americans who have lost hope in politics."

He added: "I'm running to restore common sense to government. All Americans deserve a government that empowers the individual and restores decision-making to the states and local communities, where people are best equipped to fix the nation's problems."

The 36-year-old Bethel Music artist sings, "We won't stop singing until the whole world looks like heaven" in the background of his first campaign video, which he shared on social media.

The 3rd District compromises areas north and west of Sacramento. The district has a partisan voter index (PVI) of D+5, making it significantly more competitive politically than California as a whole.
