Dem Rep. Tells Young Black Conservative: 'Be Afraid of Us'
Per the Washington Examiner:
Coreco Ja'Quan "CJ" Pearson, a high school junior who describes himself as “young, black, and unapologetically Republican,” tweeted about Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s reaction to President Trump's State of the Union address.
“@AOC has been talking this entire speech and the woman next to her keeps trying to look the other way,” Pearson tweeted.
Velazquez, 65, took offense to the young Republican personality for not knowing her name and said that people like her and Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., are the “future of this country.”
Hi @TheCJPearson, I'm not "the woman sitting next to her". @AOC and I -- and millions like us -- are the future of this country. And you're right to be afraid of us.— Nydia M Velázquez (@ReElectNydia) February 6, 2019
But you should learn my name. https://t.co/frL8ikNDcV
