Biden: 'There Is a Price to Pay for Naked Aggression'

Appearing with the president of Latvia and Lithuania, Vice President Joe Biden warned Russia "that there is a price to pay for naked aggression."

Biden also said, according to the pool report, "We stand resolutely with our Baltic allies in support of the Ukrainian people and against Russian aggression. ... As long as Russia proceeds along this dark path, they will receive increasing political and economic isolation."

-VPOTUS began by condemning as illegal Russia’s move into Crimea and steps to annex the peninsula. He also cited today’s reports of "armed attacks against Ukrainian military personnel,” presumably referring to the taking of a military base in Crimea by Russian proxy forces..

“We stand resolutely with our Baltic allies in support of the Ukrainian people and against Russian aggression,” VPOTUS said. “As long as Russia proceeds along this dark path, they will receive increasing political and economic isolation."

-VPOTUS rejected the assessments that the “old rules” now apply after Putin’s military push into Crimea. “Russia cannot escape that the world is changing and rejecting outright their behavior…And that there is a price to pay for naked aggression."
