6.) Walls of Troy

The famous city from classical antiquity had formidable walls erected between 3000 and 2600 BC protecting it during the Trojan War.

They consisted of watchtowers, brick ramparts, and raised earth that served as a natural barrier. Made of limestone and nearly 20 feet tall, they surely were a formidable site for any Bronze Age attacker.

However, repeated assaults against the citadel proved too much to bear.

Historians estimate the ancient city was destroyed five times.
