Back in 2009, President Trump's Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta was the U.S. attorney for the southern district of Florida.

Although the FBI uncovered evidence that Epstein had engaged in sex acts with at least three dozen underage girls and faced the prospect of life in prison – Acosta struck a shockingly lenient deal where the shady billionaire was granted immunity from federal prosecution.

Epstein crawled back to New York 13 months and appeared, for a time, to join the ranks of former President Clinton and director Roman Polanski whose sex scandals faded over time.
