Rep. James Kolbe represented a Tucson-area congressional seat in the U.S. House of Representative from 1985-2007.

Kolbe came out as gay in 1996, becoming the second openly gay Republican to serve in Congress.

He is currently a fellow at the German Marshall Fund think tank in Washington, D.C. and a consultant at Kissinger Associates, Inc., a New York City geopolitical consulting firm still run by Henry Kissinger.
