It is believed that Vox and the New York Times had a coordinated effort to disrupt new media. A tweet by the author of the NYT's piece reveals that he was announcing an upcoming article about the right and their presence on the internet. This tweet was liked by Carlos Maza, the man who would go on to get right-wing commentators and history videos demonetized or banned just days before the New York Times piece.
