5.) Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis

Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis chose to ride with Soleimani to the Baghdad Airport and met the same fiery demise at the hands of a Hellfire missile.

Though not as well known, Muhandis founded the Kata’ib Hezbollah militia, which recently killed an American contractor and whose supporters attempted to storm the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad.

The United States recognizes Kata’ib Hezbollah as a terror group.

Muhandis ruthlessly used his pro-Iran militia’s muscle to undermine U.S. attempts at democratizing Iraq and spread the Iranian regime’s nefarious influence there.
But he was living on borrowed time. Muhandis received a death sentence in 1983 in Kuwait for helping bomb U.S. and French embassies.

For over 36 years, he evaded justice. But not anymore.
