Roy Benavidez earned his Medal of Honor in a battle called the “Six Hours of Hell” during the Vietnam War. He voluntarily got in a helicopter to reinforce another unit which was under heavy fire from 1,000 man NVA battalion. He was wounded severely on his way to get downed soldiers but he kept going. He would end up rescuing several men and getting them to a helicopter only for that helicopter to go down moments later while Benavidez was getting secret documents off the body of a fallen soldier. He returned to the helicopter and helped the wounded escape while defending against the attack. The doctor thought he had died and was putting him in a body bag until Benavides spat in his face.
