1.) The Darkest Days of the Revolution

The one month and 10-day siege of Charleston, South Carolina, ended in the worst defeat suffered by the United States in the Revolutionary War.

The prospect of returning to monarchy loomed after the city’s capture and the destruction of the Continental Army in the southern colonies.

The guerilla tactics employed by Francis Marion, Thomas Sumter, and Nathanael Green eventually turned the tide in the South.
