1.) Abraham Lincoln

Abraham Lincoln was the 16th President of the United States, he ended the barbaric practice of slavery in America and restored the Union amid a bloody civil war that could’ve easily torn it apart.

Unfortunately, an assassin’s bullet meant his vision of a reconstruction process than emphasized reconciliation was lost.

His successors and leaders in Congress were much harsher towards the South, breeding profound resentment.
