Fences may make good neighbors—but Sen. Bernie Sanders, apparently, does not.

The socialist Senator from Vermont has been accused of stealing his next-door neighbor’s copy of the Washington Post every Sunday.
Radio host Chris Plante explained the bizarre accusation on his show:

“[Bernie Sanders’s] next-door neighbor, their neighbor on Capitol Hill, called the Washington Post and told the Washington Post that they were canceling their Washington Post subscription because their very expensive Sunday Post stopped showing up. Not there this week, last week, the week before, then it was there one week, but the week before it wasn’t delivered, so I’m canceling my subscription to the Post because your delivery person never gets to me. I’m paying for it but it never gets to me.”

Planted added that, “The Washington Post said, ‘Please, do not cancel your subscription to the Washington Post. We will investigate with the delivery person and we will get back to you.’”

Upon investigating, the Post found out that someone was grabbing the newspaper almost immediately upon delivery. They described him as “an older man with gray hair, balding, and little round glasses…”

Apparently, the neighbor told the Post: “I’m… in my 50s, I’ve got a full head of dark hair. But, my neighbor is Bernie Sanders.”

Plante didn’t explain how he learned the anecdote, and it hasn’t been verified by either the neighbor or the Washington Post. But, if it’s true, it’s clear that even living next door to a millionaire like Bernie Sanders doesn’t mean your newspaper won’t get stolen.
