More details are emerging in yesterday’s mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
Nikolas Cruz, the 19-year-old suspect in yesterday’s massacre, has been charged with 17 counts of premeditated murder and faces the possibility of a death sentence if convicted.
So far, the death toll stands at 17 people. Cruz injured at least 14 more – including five still in critical condition.
Unfortunately, Cruz was well-known to many at the school. As a former student, administrators expelled him for repeated outbursts. Cruz’s social media accounts depict a loner who was obsessed with firearms, followed Syrian resistance groups, and participated in online group chats about making bombs.
Reportedly, the FBI was warned about a school shooting threat from YouTube.
Many students were not surprised when the learned the identity of their attempted killer.
Justin Caruso of The Daily Caller reports:
One student told WJXT4 that “everyone predicted it.” The student also said, “Honestly, a lot of people were saying it was gonna be him,” in reference to Cruz.
