A shockingly large majority of Americans report they are afraid of political violence by liberals, and nearly a third fear liberals will engage in an actual shooting war with our own government.
A new Rasmussen Reports poll finds “59% of all voters are concerned that those opposed to President Trump’s policies will resort to violence, with 33% who are Very Concerned.”
“Thirty-one percent (31%) of Likely U.S. Voters say it’s likely that the United States will experience a second civil war sometime in the next five years, with 11% who say it’s Very Likely,” Rasmussen finds.
Only 29 percent of Americans says an actual civil war is “not at all likely.”
Americans have reason to be afraid. Unhinged by Trump’s election, liberals have engaged in outright street warfare, in the hopes an escalation of violence will somehow remove him from office.
During Trump’s inauguration liberals rioted just blocks from the Capitol, smashing windows, assaulting police officers with bricks and setting fire to a car with innocent bystanders inside.
Since March 2017 nearly 50 Republican members of Congress have received explicit death threats, been assaulted, or have been shot at by liberals.
The poll was conducted between June 21 and 24. Two days earlier a Florida Democrat Party volunteer was arrested for threating to kill the children of Florida Republican Congressman Brian Mast.
Liberals have a recent history of resorting to armed terrorism.
In 2012 three members of the “Occupy Cleveland” movement were given prison sentences ranging between eight and eleven years for plotting to blow up an Ohio bridge in a liberal terrorist attack.
In 2015 a liberal activist was sentenced to two years in prison for a plot to detonate deadly firebombs inside the 2008 Republican National Convention.
During 2016 protests against a petroleum pipeline in North Dakota liberal activists threw explosive propane bombs in numerous attempts to kill police officers. One liberal activist lost an arm when her bomb prematurely exploded.
In the most high-profile liberal terrorist attack on Trump supporters, in June 2017 James Hodgkinson, a 66-year-old liberal activist, opened fire on numerous Republican members of Congress practicing for an annual charity baseball game.
Hodgkinson shot and wounded four people before police were able to respond and kill him. One of them, House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, nearly died from his wounds.
