NFL Quarterback Tom Brady officially made his decision today on whether he’d retire or not this off-season. Following the 2021 NFL off-season, it was falsely reported that Brady would retire. However, Brady stated that his mind was not made on the decision to retire, as he eventually decided to return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the 2022 NFL season.
Today, Brady broke the news on his Twitter account that he would be deciding to retire from the NFL, after 23 seasons:
“Good morning, guys. I’ll get to the point right away. I’m retiring. For good,” he said. “I know the process was a pretty big deal last time, so when I woke up this morning, I figured I’d just press record, and I’d let you guys know first. It won’t be long-winded. You only get one super emotional retirement essay, and I used mine up last year. So I really thank you guys so much. To every single one of you for supporting me: My family, my friends, my teammates, my competitors I could go on forever. There’s too many. Thank you guys for allowing me to live my absolute dream. I wouldn’t change a thing. I love you all.”
Truly grateful on this day. Thank you 🙏🏻❤️ pic.twitter.com/j2s2sezvSS

Throughout Brady’s highly decorated career, he’s been a 7x Super Bowl champion (XXXVI, XXXVIII, XXXIX, XLIX, LI, LIII, LV), an NFL record he is likely to hold for decades to come, as well as a 5x Super Bowl MVP (XXXVI, XLIX, LI, LIII, LV.) As a Patriot, he’s been voted a total of 4 times as the NFL’s Most Valuable Player (2007, 2010, 2017, 2018.) Brady is a 14x Pro Bowl selection, as well as a 3x First-team All-Pro, beating out the likes of Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers during those years.
Tom Brady was drafted by the New England Patriots in the year 2000. He was selected in the sixth round as the 199th overall pick. He is considered to be one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, as he is the record holder in many of the NFL’s statistics for Quarterbacks.
During his tenure for the New England Patriots, which lasted a total of 20 seasons (2000-2019), Brady would win six Super Bowls, tying the Pittsburgh Steelers, who also have have the Super Bowl a total of six times, also giving Brady the NFL record of most Super bowls won by a starting NFL Quarterback.
Brady would go on to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and led them to win Super Bowl LV in the 2020-2021 season, bringing Tom Brady’s number of Super Bowl wins to seven. With a total of seven Super Bowl rings, Tom Brady has accumulated more Super Bowl championships than any of the NFL’s 32 teams.
Brady will be eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Call of 2028, he is slated to be an obvious lock for getting into the Hall of Fame for his first year of eligibility.
I guess he lost his love for his wife or he wouldn’t have played 1 more year.
