They left out a few, like Seattle, Washington; Portland, Oregon; Madison, Wisconsin; and a few more, if I had time. I know, because I have lived there or have family there.

Ha Ha Ha Ha !!! The poorest, most backward, run down, poorly educated states, the ones with the highest rates of unemployment, poverty, drug abuse , high school dropouts, teenage pregnancy, abortions, lowest rates of college graduates etc , are all down south and run by the Republican party !
I too am surprised that Chicago was not listed. More importantly though I evidently missed what the judging criteria was and the reasons each city ranked as they did.
