White House officials may be hitting the panic button after a new poll shows only 28 percent of likely voters believe a second term for President Joe Biden will be better for America than bringing back former President Donald Trump.
The latest Rasmussen Reports poll finds, when asked if a second Biden term or second Trump presidency “would be better for America,” only 28 percent said Biden, while a whopping 42 percent preferred a second term for Trump. Another 27 percent said they wanted “somebody else.”
Rasmussen also found 52 percent of likely voters “believe Biden’s presidency has been bad for the long-term success of the United States.”
Only thirty-four percent said Biden’s presidency “has been good for America’s long-term” success, while another 11 percent say “it hasn’t made much difference.”
Rasmussen’s finding comes as Biden’s net job approval continues to flounder as the economy is rocked by inflation and supply shortages.
Real Clear Politics’ average of national polls, measuring a hypothetical Biden-Trump 2024 rematch, finds Trump leading the national popular vote with an average of 45.4 to Biden’s 41.7 percent.
RCP finds an average of just 41.3 percent of Americans currently approve of Biden’s job performance, while an average of 53.8 percent disapprove, an average gap of 12.5 percent.
Since taking office Biden’s job approval has steadily declined from an average of 55.5 percent, while his disapproval has steadily risen from an average of 36.0 percent.
