New York socialist Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez claims a recent outbreak of smash-and-grab robberies by organized gangs are just fake claims by businesses, despite multiple robberies being recorded and aired nationally.
“A lot of these allegations of organized retail theft are not actually panning out,” Ocasio Cortez told The Washington Times in an interview.
“I believe it’s a Walgreens in California who cited it, but the data didn’t back it up,” she went on to claim.
Literally none of what she said is true.
“Organized retail crime is one of the top challenges facing” Walgreens told the Times, noting the new rash of thefts “evolved beyond shoplifting and petty theft to the sale of stolen and counterfeit goods online.”
There have been hundreds of reported cases of organized shoplifting, often in areas that have adopted Ocasio Cortez’s “Defund The Police” agenda and made theft a minor offense.
Dozens of the daytime raids have been recorded and gone viral, including one mass shoplifting in which the gang was ambushed and robbed in the parking lot by another gang.
“Respectfully, the Congresswoman has no idea what she is talking about. Both the data and stack of video evidence makes fairly clear that this is a growing problem in need of solutions,” Retail Industry Leaders Association senior executive vice president of communications Jason Brewer told Fox News.
“If she is not concerned with organized theft and increasingly violent attacks on retail employees, she should just say that,” Brewer added.
It’s the latest bizarre claim by Ocasio Cortez, who has earned a reputation as one of the dumbest members of Congress. She previously livestreamed herself struggling to deal with her luxury apartment’s garbage disposal, which she said confused and frightened.
She has also been recorded turning and literally running away when reporters and a Democrat primary opponent attempted to ask her questions.

I really don’t understand why, since everything she says is either not true or exaggerated to a great extent.
