Chaos swept over New Jersey on Tuesday afternoon as a dramatic running gun battle unfolded which left six people dead, including one police officer.
The police officer who was murdered was reportedly a married, 39-year-old father of five. Several other police officers were also wounded during the deadly firefight.
As Fox News reports:
The shootings unfolded in a cemetery and a convenience store near the Sacred Heart School…
Of the six people who died, one was a married 39-year-old police officer with five kids. The others killed included two of the three suspects in the case, as well as three civilians.
A second officer was struck in the shoulder by gunfire, and two others were hit by shrapnel, Mayor Steven Fulop said.
It was unclear what happened to the third suspect, described as a 6-foot-tall black male wearing all black clothing.
