Chris Christie has been attacking Marco Rubio, his main rival for New Hampshire. This week, Rubio hit back…

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio hit back Sunday against presidential opponent Chris Christie, who said last week that Hillary Clinton would “cut his heart out” in a general election faceoff.

Rubio, a first-term senator, insisted that his relative youth and inexperience wouldn’t hinder his ability to serve as president, although that’s a criticism Republicans have often levied at President Obama.

“Obama’s not a failure because he was a senator,” Rubio said on ABC’s “This Week.” “He’s got seven years of presidential experience and still he’s making enormous mistakes, so clearly it is his ideologies that are flawed.”

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie seized on that line of attack last week, saying Rubio has been “spoon-fed every victory he’s ever had in his life.”

Rubio called Christie’s attack a ploy to avoid talking about his record as a moderate.

“Chris’s record for a Republican is not what we need,” Rubio said. “He’s a supporter of Common Core, he’s personally given a donation to Planned Parenthood, the last thing we need in our Republican nominee is someone who agrees with President Obama and Hillary Clinton.”

Christie’s record is nearly as bad as Rubio is imagining it. He’s often been accused by Jersey Republicans of making common cause with Democrats. Rubio’s immigration record is bad, but for the most part he’s voted with conservatives when it’s mattered.
