Margaret Thatcher, also known as the Iron Lady, was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1979-1990, and was a strong proponent of the Conservative Party in the UK, with Thatcher actually leading the party from 1975 to 1990. Thatcher is best known for her iron leadership style, and her uncompromising attitude in politics that resulted in a stimulation of the UK economy, ultimately pulling her people out of a huge recession. She passed away in 2013, and Obama skipped out in honoring Thatcher at her funeral.
