Former Vice President Al Gore, who opposed impeaching the president for proven obstruction of justice, now wants the president impeached for disproven obstruction of justice.

Gore was vice president to President Bill Clinton, impeached in 1998 after the Justice Department determined he lied to a federal grand jury during a deposition taken in a sexual harassment civil lawsuit against him.

At the time, Gore opposed impeaching the President for obstruction of justice.

A multi-year, multi-million dollar investigation by former FBI Director Robert Mueller ended with Mueller issuing no recommendation current President Donald Trump be charged with or impeached for anything.

Despite that, Gore now supports impeaching the President for obstruction of justice.

“My own view is that not seeking accountability for what appear to be credible allegations that crimes were committed — meaningful crimes — runs the risk of normalizing that behavior,” Gore tells ABC News.

The allegations are not credible.

Gore wants Democrats to investigate Trump until they can come up with evidence to support impeachment, which Mueller was not able to do.

“I think what is going on now with Chairman Nadler is the right course of action, and that is to gather evidence and begin an inquiry to see what other evidence is available and then make that a decision to go forward when the time comes,” said Gore.

Gore is best known for a 2006 film in which he claimed the Earth would be destroyed by global warming in 10 years.

Thirteen years later, the Earth still exists, and global temperatures appear to be dropping.
