Obama DHS Questioned, THEN Let NYC Terrorist Go

We already know that yesterday's terrorist attack in New York City was preventable. Now, it gets even worse.

A government policy championed by Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer allowed Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov to migrate to the United States seven years ago. (RELATED: NYC Terror Suspect: What You NEED To Know)

However dangerous and naive this policy is, authorities could have stopped Saipov before his murderous rampage, according to ABC News.

During Barack Obama's presidency, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) flagged Saipov for being "the point of contact" for 23 people of interest, including at least two individuals already in DHS' counterterrorism database.

As of 4:30 pm Eastern Time today, ISIS has not claimed responsibility for Tuesday's attack on the West Side of Manhattan. But investigators with the Joint Terrorism Task Force have noted that the attack bears the hallmarks of the terror group's massacres in Nice, France, and Berlin, Germany.

Law enforcement also obtained a handwriting note in Saipov's truck stating he committed terrorism on behalf of ISIS.

In another troubling sign, investigators searching Saipov's social media profiles found links to subjects of terror investigations.

Ominous signs were readily apparent in the years preceding this act of terror to those who know where to look. Supposedly qualified Obama appointees at DHS may have just dropped the ball.
