Man Found Dead With Dem Donor 'Seemed Just Fine' When Last Seen
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has opened an investigation into the death of a black man who authorities found dead at the apartment of prominent Democratic Party donor Ed Buck.
Two years ago, Gemmel Moore – a young African American sex worker – died of a meth overdose in Buck's home.
The LA County District Attorney's Office declined to prosecute then, saying evidence was "insufficient to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that (Buck) is responsible for the death of Gemmel Moore."
This time, Buck's lawyer defended his client's actions, saying "An old time friend of Ed’s came over and–and — was reluctant to have him come over. The individual came over, had already been partying, apparently had already taken some substances."
Jackie Tepper's recollection – Buck's neighbor – raises more questions than answers.
Tepper was likely the last person to see the man alive.
Tepper relayed her account to NBC Los Angeles: I believe I was the last person to see him at 12:15… He walked by me then he walked up the stairs and he seemed fine. He wasn’t stumbling and he seemed fine.
