Black Lives Matter is already trying to use the violence in Charlottesville for fundraising.

On Monday, the controversial organization tweeted “Today & every day, we stand w/ #Charlottesville and against State violence & white supremacy. #DefendCville,” followed by a link to donate. The tweet is currently pinned to the top of their Twitter feed.

Black Lives Matter is raising money for a fund that’s, alternately, called “Charlottesville Solidarity Legal Fund” or “Solidarity Cville Anti-Racist Legal Fund” on their website. Black Lives Matter describes the fund as “an independent community resource that is available to all anti-racist activists in the ongoing struggle to confront and end white supremacy in Charlottesville.”

The fund’s description also features a quote from Assata Shakur—an African-American terrorist who killed a police offer and has spent decades evading U.S. authorities in Cuba.

It’s not exactly clear what the fund is, or who manages it: the “Paid for and authorized by” disclaimer at the bottom of the webpage is blank.

Black Lives Matter surpassed their fundraising goal of $50,000—raising nearly $150,000 by Monday afternoon.
