A Colorado man was attacked by an “anti-fascist” in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant—after being mistaken for a neo-Nazi.

Joshua Witt, 26, was getting out of his car in at the parking lot of a fast food restaurant, when he was immediately approached by a man wielding a knife.

“All I hear is, ‘Are you one of them neo-Nazis?’ as this dude is swinging a knife up over my car door at me,” wrote Witt, in a Facebook post that has now been shared more than 35,000 times.

Witt added: “Luckily, I put my hands up to stop it so he only stabbed my hand. Please keep in mind there was no conversation between me and this dude; I was literally just getting out of my car.”

“I have no tattoos that would indicate anything like that,” he added. “There is nothing on the car that I am aware of that might suggest it. My head is not shaved.”

“I just don't understand this world anymore,” Witt wrote. “People are crazy.”

Witt’s only injuries were to his hands, and he required three stitches.
