Fox News condemned Sean Hannity's appearance at President Trump's final campaign rally Monday with a statement declaring that the network "does not condone any talent participating in campaign events."

Mediaite reports:

"FOX News does not condone any talent participating in campaign events,” Fox said in a statement to Mediaite. “We have an extraordinary team of journalists helming our coverage tonight and we are extremely proud of their work. This was an unfortunate distraction and has been addressed."

Hannity and the network initially said on Tuesday that the Fox News host would only hold his show from the rally venue and interview the president.

“To be clear, I will not be on stage campaigning with the President,” Hannity tweeted Tuesday morning.

During Trump's rally, the president called Hannity to the stage. The host obliged.

Hannity fired up the crowd immediately, pointing to the press corps and proclaiming "By the way all those people in the back are fake news."

Trump also invited Fox News personality Jeanine Pirro to join him. Network executives also rebuked her participation in the rally.

However, they did not disclose their method of doing so.
