So much for “boys will be boys.”

Leah McLaren, a self-described "feminist mom,” was so offended that her 3-year-old son rejected “girlish” things that she’s signed him up for ballet lessons.

McLaren now vows to turn her son, James, into a “proud princess whether he likes it or not.” In order to learn how to respect women, or something.

In an article for Canada’s The Globe and Mail, McLaren explained that she was sitting with James in a park. When she picked him a dandelion and offered it to him, he responded, “No way… I’m a boy.”

Young James had also committed the unforgivable sin, according to his mother, of rejecting other girlish things, like the Disney movie “Frozen."

"You might think this is no big deal, that my son is just behaving ‘naturally,' but I’m automatically wary of notions of biological determinism,” McLaren writes. "When he hands me back a flower because pretty things are for girls, I think, what’s next? Kindness? Decency? Dancing?"

McLaren adds that she’s concerned that—by encouraging today’s young girls to take on more independent, traditionally masculine behaviors, but not demanding femininity from little boys—parents are sending the message that “boy stuff is universally cool and girl stuff is silly and worthless.”

To combat that, McLaren has decided to force her three-year-old son to be more feminine, whether he likes it or not.

She explains, "If I want my son to love and respect women, I am going to have to teach him to embrace – and ideally appreciate – “girlish” things. That’s why I’m weaving him a dandelion crown and signing him up for ballet. I’m going to turn the little alphabet belcher into a proud princess whether he likes it or not.”
