Mt. Pleasant, Michigan and campus police responded to reports of shots fired at Central Michigan University earlier this morning.

The university sent an automated phone call to all students and faculty at 9:20 am, advising everyone to seek shelter.

According to Michigan State Police, a lone gunman – described as a 19-year-old black male, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and wearing mustard yellow jeans and a blue hoodie – fatally shot two people.

The victims were not students at the university. Authorities believe the shooting appears to be a domestic incident.

The ordinarily idyllic town of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, has been thrown into a state of chaos with the suspect, considered armed and dangerous, still on the loose.

Law enforcement officials have advised anyone who sees him, stay away and call 911 immediately.
