California Launches Unprecedented Invasion of Privacy
The city of West Sacramento, California, is using a controversial Artificial Intelligence program that tracks and analyzes what people are posting about the city online, KOVR-TV reported.

City leaders promoted the practice as a way to better understand residents’ concerns and what is “trending.” But some people are questioning the scope of the program, called Zencity, and how the data might be used.

How does it work?

Zencity is a system that crawls through public posts on social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Then, the system sorts through the posts and classifies the information as either positive or negative.
