BREAKING: UAW Backs Muslim Brotherhood Ally
Keith Ellison is a friend of the Muslim Brotherhood. He's a defender of the Nation of Islam, and a fan of reparations for slavery, 9/11 conspiracies, and racial segregatation.
And he just received an endorsement from one of the nation's largest unions:
Do the UAW's rank and file members know about Ellison's history? Or is this another case of unions backing an extremist whose values are at odds with those of its members?
The United Automobile Workers plans to endorse Rep. Keith Ellison in the race for chair of the Democratic National Committee, according to two sources with knowledge of the union’s plans.
The UAW is one of the remaining major labor groups that hasn't weighed in on the race for DNC chair. Ellison has already picked up support from other major labor organizations including the AFL-CIO, AFSCME President Lee Saunders, and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
It's unclear when the endorsement will happen. When asked about the endorsement, UAW senior communications adviser Brian Rothenberg said, “When we’re ready to put out the release we will.”
Meanwhile, the Service Employees International Union will not issue a formal endorsement, but will urge SEIU DNC members and others to vote for Ellison, according to a source familiar with the matter.
