Gaskins was viciously beaten by his father as a young boy. Picked on for his small size, he dropped out of school at 11 and begun wreaking havoc.

For a time, he and two other boys went around burglarizing homes and raping unsuspecting victims.

After a stint in jail and killing an inmate he said he found a new "recreation."

It would lead him to beat, torture, and rape both women and men before drowning them.

He killed more than 80 people, disposing of some in his private cemetery and others in nearby swamps.

Eventually, the law caught up with Gaskins. He met his fate in the electric chair.
