Populist Fox News host Tucker Carlson gave an unflattering assessment of the Trump administration last year in an interview with Swiss magazine Die Weltwoche.

Carlson commented at length about the president's inability to deliver on his planned accomplishments:

"His chief promises were that he would build the wall, defund Planned Parenthood and repeal Obamacare, and he hasn’t done any of those things," the network's newest star said.

"I’ve come to believe that Trump’s role is not as a conventional president who promises to get certain things achieved to the Congress and then does."

Carlson lamented how Trump failed to rally Congress to implement his vision despite historic Republican majorities in both houses, wondering aloud if the president's political inexperience would be his Achilles heel.

"I don’t think he’s capable of sustained focus. I don’t think he understands the system. I don’t think the Congress is on his side. I don’t think his own agencies support him."
