President Nixon won the 1968 election on the promise of ending the Vietnam War with an honorable peace. 

With over half a million Americans in Southeast Asia, that would take time.

For ten bloody days in May, U.S. paratroopers fought alongside South Vietnamese forces against the communist North Vietnamese.

Though the Americans inflicted ten times the number of casualties they sustained, Hill 937 – or Hamburger Hill as it became known – had little strategic value.
