We understand that lying to Congress is a crime; however, often times people answer to the best of their knowledge while unknowingly making a false statement.

Roger Stone told the House Intelligence Committee that he did not have documents that show he interacted with “Organization 1,” as mentioned in the indictment, which many believe to be Wikileaks.

It is possible that he lied and did not think investigators could find the documents or it's possible he simply didn’t know they existed.
