Page 394 of the 2018 omnibus spending bill describes the federal government's commitment to providing Jordan with $500 million to help erect a defensive barrier along its 287-mile border with Iraq and Syria.

It appears Democrats and Republicans can agree to fully fund a border wall – over 6,000 miles away.

An additional $1.769 billion was allocated on page 375 for the "Counter-Islamic State of Iraq and Syria Train and Equip Fund," to be used at the Secretary of Defense's discretion to enhance border security of nations adjacent to areas affected by ISIS.

Besides combating transnational terrorism, Jordan's so-called Great Wall has reduced arms smuggling and the flow of refugees.

Most Democrats, including then-Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, voted for the 2018 omnibus.
