ScotteVest President Marshall Rule told HuffPost, "as a small, privately owned company, we buy our ads on a remnant basis and do not have the ability to choose the programs on which we advertise. That being said, we believe that a cornerstone of our democracy is the right to free speech, which sometimes means tolerating opinions that one may disagree with and find distasteful."

Although ads running next week weren't able to be pulled, the clothing company has "no plans to advertise" on Carlson's show beyond that.
