Despite having the largest majority since 1928, Republicans were not able to fully repeal Obamacare, as center-right politicians had promised in every election since 2010.

The tax bill eliminated the individual mandate penalty, but the Republican Congress didn't act further on health insurance reform, forcing President Trump to enact changes by executive fiat.

Administration officials and Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), an ophthalmologist, worked to increase access to insurance plans and expand the length of time consumers have to purchase health insurance plans.

Unfortunately, these decisions could be reversed by a future Democratic administration.

Texas District Judge Reed O’Connor struck down Obamacare in its entirety.

O’Connor's ruling won't go unchallenged, setting up a showdown before the Supreme Court.

Given the law has not yet succumbed as promised, President Trump and the Republicans have not made good on their pledge to fully repeal Obamacare.
